Agreement Signing Ceremony Between Dipon Consultancy Services Ltd. & Buro Bangladesh to expand DGepay-Prime Cash Service Point

Dipon Consultancy Services Ltd. (DCSL), a leading technology company of Bangladesh, as a part of Dipon Group’s ongoing efforts to expand banking services availability all over the country, announces the signing of an agreement with Buro Bangladesh, a leading NGO in Bangladesh. Under this agreement, Buro Bangladesh with its 250 branches will act as a corporate agent of Dipon Group to offer Prime Cash Services throughout Bangladesh.

Mr. Shafquat Matin, Director of DCSL, and Mr. Zakir Hossain Executive Director of Buro Bangladesh signed the agreement on their companies’ behalf at a ceremony held on December 23, 2013. The deal aims to introduce basic banking facilities such as disbursement of remittance, money transfer, cash deposit, withdrawal, account opening, DPS, Mobile Top-up, etc. across the country.

Mr. Syed Javed Iqbal (Director), Shah Hasibur Rahman (Manager-Business Development) of DCSL and M. Mosharrof Hossain, Finance Director, Md. Sirajul Islam, Special Program Director, Md. Mukitul Islam, Operation Director, Khandaker Mahfuzur Rahman, Risk Management and Internal Audit Director, Pranesh Chandra Banik, Special Program Deputy Director of Buro Bangladesh were present during the signing ceremony.
Prime Cash, a biometric smart card-based virtual wallet account, has been designed to address the banking needs of the un-banked rural and urban people of the country. Prime Cash users will now be able to avail the banking services at Buro Bangladesh with reliability and safety. Prime Cash is a product of Prime Bank Limited – the leading commercial bank in the private sector of the county.

Mr. Md. Ehsan Khasru, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prime Bank Limited (PBL) with Mr. Rashed Mahmud, Managing Director of Dipon Consultancy Services Ltd. formally launched “Prime Cash Card” service at the ATM Booth of the Banks’s head office in the city on Wednesday September 4, 2013. Mr. Habibur Rahman, Head of the Retail Banking, Mr. Md. Iqbal Hossain, Head of IT Operation, Mrs. Ferdousi Sultana, Head of Public Relations, Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed, Head of ADC, Mr. Amir Hossain Majumdar, Head of Cards and Mr. Md. Tofazzul Hossain, Head of Marketing were present from Prime Bank Limited. Besides, Mr. Shafquat Matin, Director, Mr. Fakhrul Islam, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Md. Farhad Khan, Head of the Department, Sales and Marketing and Mr. Kamrus Sama were also present there.

From now on, Prime Cash account holders can use the ATM Booth of Prime Bank Limited as withdrawal purpose. The Prime Cash account holder those who have the PIN Number to access the ATM Booth can avail the money withdrawal service; aside for other transaction i.e. money deposit, fund transfer etc. the Prime Cash account holder have to go to nearest Prime Cash Service Point (PCSP).

Dipon Consultancy Services Limited (DCSL) won the prestigious International MasterCard PayExpo 2013 Award for Prepaid Program of 2013.

Prepaid Expo is the gold standard of prepaid events with 1,500+ attendees and 100+ exhibitors where 96% of the attendees are generating business for the prepaid industry. DCSL won this award for the revolutionary work of introducing biometric smart card-based Alternative Delivery Channel for the banking industry and as a significant contributor to Financial Services and Prepaid Industry. In collaboration with Prime Bank Limited, DCSL introduced for the first time in Bangladesh a secured banking system named Prime Cash for the common people of the country. In this system, a Prime Cash cardholder can send, receive or deposit money from anywhere in Bangladesh from nearest Prime Cash Service Points just using his/her fingerprint. The Prime Cash Service Points are equipped with biometric POS machines that are also ready to provide other services such as ‘bill payment for utility companies’, insurance premium, deposit pension scheme (DPS), etc.

Mr. Shafquat Matin, Director of DCSL, received the award at a ceremony held at ExCel Exhibition Centre London, UK on 18th June 2013. Mr. Javier Perez, President of MasterCard Europe, was present at the ceremony.

Gemalto delivers micro-banking technology in Bangladesh

Amsterdam, June 3, 2013 – Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, is providing its smart card based solution to Dipon Consultancy Services Limited (DCSL) for their financial inclusion project in Bangladesh. DCSL is implementing this project in collaboration with Prime Bank Limited (PBL). The program named Prime Cash which represents over 76% of the country’s 150 million-population(1) aims to provide secure access to banking services for people with limited or no access to banking services in both rural and urban areas in Bangladesh.

In its effort to foster financial inclusion, DCSL has deployed DG-ePay (Dipon Group-ePay) Service Points at major public places throughout the country. End users can enroll themselves and open an account at any of the DG-ePay Service Points. The Gemalto smart cards contain an embedded software application that securely stores the holder’s facial image and fingerprint data captured upon enrollment. End user transactions are validated using biometric authentication, providing a superior level of convenience and security to all, including illiterate users. The Gemalto solution facilitates daily life financial services, such as account opening, deposit, withdrawal, transfer, loan repayment and remittances. DCSL has already delivered 200,000 cards to end users.

Prime Bank Ltd., Airtel and Dipon Consultancy Services Ltd. have recently signed a tripartite agreement for recharge and collection of airtel mobile bills through Prime Cash Card. Through this agreement Prime Cash cardholders will avail the facility to recharge Airtel Pre-paid balance and make payment of post-paid bills.

During the signing Mr. Md. Tabarak Hossain Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Emerging Market of Prime Bank Limited, Ms. Rubaba Dowla, CSO & Head of m-commerce of Airtel and Mr. Syed Javed Iqbal, Director of Dipon Consultancy Services Ltd. were present.
